Nerja is the main services centre for this side of the coast and a wide range of services are available including numerous shops, restaurants and bars, a health centre, private clinics and primary and secondary schools.
A new health centre is currently under construction and expected to be finished by 2006.
There’s an excellent cultural scene throughout the year and the local cultural centre offers opera, music and theatre.
