Vegas del Genil is a tranquil village situated of the fertile plain of the south of Granada in the river side of the Genil´s river. It comprises three quarters- Ambroz, Belicena and Purchil.
Its main activity is the farm, a source of income and work. We must stand out the tobacco and asparagus cultivation, as well as other products of basic farming.
This is one of the most representative villages of the tobacco market boom in the province of Granada since the beginning of the 20th century and its landscape full of drying rooms is a proof of this.
