El Ejido is already known for the enormous opportunities it offers travellers for all kinds of water sports on its broad seacoast.
Once you are set up you are recommended to visit the area’s numerous monuments such as the ostentatious guardias Viejas Castle, which was constructed by order of Carlos III to defend the coast from frequent pirate and corsair attacks.
In its interior there is a theme museum about coastal fortresses, with a display of military uniforms of the period, weapons and models for better understanding of the historical context in which it was built.
You can also get away to the virgin beaches with sand dunes on the Balema or Punta Entinas coast, wind surf in Ensenada San Miguel, or go to the beaches and marina of the Almerimar development
